Ok so I know I said December 1st but hey why not get a head start?
So it's a little cold here in philly and well I need to do wash so I didn't have any semi warm clothes to run/walk in, so i decided to hit up the treadmill that never gets used in the basement. The treadmill tracks you in tenths of a mile and displays a circle to show a quarter of a mile. So what I did was walk the 1st quarter, jog the 2nd, walk the 3rd and jog the 4th. Therefor that is a mile all together and then walked another half a mile so in total it was a 1.5 miles run/walk. Only thing that was a bummer was this treadmill belt seems to have a weight limit because when i was jogging on both laps everytime i brought my foot down I would stop the belt, which by the way is really scary! I thought I was going down!
After that I that i decided I wasn't done so i did this little workout using just body weight.
2x20 jumping jacks
2x10 left side lunges
2x10 right side lunges
2x10 forward lunges
2x10 push ups
2x10 sit ups
30 scissor kicks with 5 second holds at the end of each set
20 second breaks in between but I had a good music station on the tv, so I was dancing in between. For those of you who don't know me I like to dance, so why not add it into the workout right?
Regardless I think this was a good first workout to get the blood flowing and burn some calories.
That's GREAT! I am not sure about the running but I can do the other exercises with you, if you want a training partner.
